The first phase of the process consisted on training of teachers and school psychologists on how to recognise and teach children with learning difficulties
To complete this process, IPSED is following with training and informing parents on how to identify the learning difficulties and instruct them how to become supportive for better education outcomes.
Learning outcomes include support to literacy & math for those lagging behind and introduction of social & emotional development programs to all students, grades1-5 (i.e. Second Step program that promotes empathy, management of emotions and problem solving.
SC will scale up the module on “Improving Literacy Skills” to other schools within targeted municipalities. Part of measuring progress is the establishment of instruments/mechanisms for the monitoring of children’s outcomes (including CwD and other most deprived).
